CNC MACHINIST
This position is a permanent, fulltime opportunity. Competitive wage based on experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Licensed General Machinist or Tool & Die Maker with a minimum of 3 years experience.
You will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities.
- Operate manual and CNC lathe or milling machines in an accurate and safe manner
- Read and interpret drawings and manufacture parts within specifications
- Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts conform to the drawings
- Follow Health and Safety Policies and practice safe work habits, industrial hygiene and good housekeeping
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a detail-oriented and quality-minded individual
- Possess machine shop math skills and ability to perform calculations
- Work experience related to manual and CNC machining
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without difficulty
- Job requires long periods of standing
- Must possess clean driver’s abstract and valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work flexible or extended hours when needed
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Machinist Certificate
- 3 + years experience
- Experience in Gibbscam an asset
- Experience Solidworks an asset
- Experience in a job shop environment an asset
- Experience with setup and programming CNC mill and lathe an asset
- Experience in manual lathe and mill (required)

MILLWRIGHT
Job Duties:
- Always follow and maintain safety protocol
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner
- Ensure all compliance with provincial/Canadian standards and legislation
- Monitor proper working condition of equipment and notify Site Supervisor of any issues or concerns
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to complete work procedures
- Ability to use hand and power tools to assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation
- Follow plan layouts to install, align, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Operate lathes and/or grinders to build parts for maintenance of machinery or equipment
- Inspect, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment
- Always follow specifications and instruction
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
What we are looking for:
- Completion of an Ontario Certificate of Apprenticeship or Journeyman’s License, or a Certificate of Qualification (COQ)
- Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience
- Have or willing to obtain training on related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be flexible to travel to different job sites
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Can work as part of a team or alone with little supervision
- Flexible to work any shift structure assigned; weekends, overtime and off shift work
- Welding & fabrication experience is required
Work conditions:

Fabricator
Whites Mechanical & Fabrication is 24/7 service provider dedicated to quality and customer service. We specialize in Millwrighting, Custom Fabrication, Machining, and Turn-key Design and Installation services. We are currently looking to hire a full time Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel Fabricator.
Reports to the Shop Supervisor or Site Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Fabricator responsibilities are, but are not limited to, the following:
- Fabricate and weld custom products from stainless steel and carbon steel
- Finish and polish stainless steel
- Read drawings and follow blueprints to achieve product specifications
- Monitor quality of fabrication and production
- Ability to take field measurements to create shop sketches
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner
- Maintain safe work practices
- Report safety issues to Joint Health and Safety Committee members and Supervisors
- Other assigned work as required
- Follow Covid-19 Protocols as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five (5) years relevant work experience
- Valid CWB tickets or ability to pass a CWB welding test.
- TSSA tickets or ability to pass a TSSA weld test.
- Have or willing to obtain training on related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Critical thinker with problem-solving skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Labourer
As a Labourer, you are responsible for, but not limited to, the following list of duties are:
- Load, unload and move construction materials around the worksite.
- Cleaning up worksites from debris and machinery.
- Helping erect scaffolding and ladders.
- Assist welders and millwrights on-site.
- Safely operate appropriate equipment to complete required tasks.
- Monitor proper working condition of equipment and notify Site Supervisor of any issues or concerns.
- Follow and maintain safety protocol.
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to carry heavy loads.
- Hand-eye co-ordination
- Lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, shoveling
- Weight handling: over 50lbs
- G class driver’s license in good standing/Clean driver’s abstract (an asset)
- Labouring experience is an asset.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Work hours – days/evenings, overtime as required
- Fast-paced environment
